Digital Archive from an Archaeological Excavation at the Former Runwell Hospital, Essex, 2014 to 2015

This collection comprises image, text, spreadsheet and CAD data from an Archaeological Excavation at the Former Runwell Hospital, Essex. The work was undertaken by Archaeology South-East between 2014 and 2015. Following an evaluation at the site three discrete areas were excavated, Sites A-C. Occupation in the vicinity began in the early Neolithic period but only background levels of artefacts in later features were retrieved from this period. The earliest firm evidence of activity on the site dates from the Early-Middle Iron Age. Use of the site continued into the medieval and post-medieval periods.
