Helicopter was flown by Major W. E. Abblitt, United States Marine Corps, of Costa Mesa. 'Patient' was volunteer crew member Hospitalman Third Class William Voegel, of Patterson, New Jersey. Plan is to fly wounded men from battlefields to ship where full hospital facilities are available. Other hospital ships will be rigged as soon as they are available to shipyards.
