Breakdown of companies operating in the footwear industry in France 2020, by region

In France, the number of companies working in the manufacture of footwear decreased progressively since the beginning of the century. There were almost 200 companies operating in this sector in 2000, compared with less than 90 in 2020. When looking at the French regions in which they are located, it appears that over one in three were based in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region in 2020.
