资源简介:
Several studies have shown the complex relationship between sleep quality and creativity. Creative self-efficacy, as an individual's self-belief in completing creative tasks, is closely related to individual creative outcomes. This study aimed to explore the relationship between sleep quality and creative self-efficacy, primarily focused on the mediating effect of basic psychological needs and the moderating effect of stress. A sample of 264 college students from Northern China was involved in this study through the Creative Self-Efficacy Scale, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, Basic Psychological Needs Scale, and Perceived Stress Scale. The results indicated that basic psychological needs had a suppression effect on the relation between sleep quality and creative self-efficacy, and stress played a moderating role in the mediation model. Specifically, the sleep quality of high-stress-sensing individuals had a significant negative direct effect on their creative self-efficacy. In contrast, the sleep quality of low-stress-sensing individuals had no significant direct effect on their creative self-efficacy. The results showed that basic psychological needs and stress played important roles in the influenced mechanism of sleep quality to creative self-efficacy and different strategies should be adopted in enhancing creative self-efficacy for individuals with different stress perceptions.
