Aggregated floor area of buildings worldwide 2010-2022 with a 2030 forecast

Most of the building stock worldwide is projected to be added in emerging and developing economies by 2030. In 2022, the floor area in these countries was estimated at 201 billion square meters. By 2030, it is projected to rise to nearly 298 billion square meters. In advanced economies, the aggregate floor space is projected to grow from 57 billion square meters to 60 billion square meters during the same period.
