Extraterrestrial Regolith Simulant Database

This project is a dataset of extraterrestrial regolith simulants, organized in a table to facilitate sorting and filtering. The original source database was created by Kevin Cannon at Colorado School of Mines as the "Planetary Simulant Database" as a free resource, but later went defunct. In 2024 the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Aerospace Division (ASD) Advanced Materials and Structures (AMS) Committee started efforts to re-create the database in a tabular format and add to it based on new developments.

Each row of the database represents a different simulant. Columns are grouped as follows:
- Basic Information
- Mineralogy
- Bulk Chemistry
- Physical Properties

It is anticipated that the ASCE-ASD-AMS Committee will continue to maintain this database moving forward such that a persistent DOI is maintained along with a revision history as new simulants are added.
