Data on the gravitational settling experiments and FLEXPART simulations

Data accompanying the research article 'The atmospheric settling of commercially sold microplastics' by Reininger et al. (2025). The uploaded .csv files contain the measured settling velocities of microplastic films and fibers and the respective velocities modeled with the scheme of Bagheri and Bonadonna (2016) for different particle orientations (maximum-orientation drag, random-orientation drag, and an average between maximum- and random-orientation drag). Included are the modeled terminal settling velocities of volume-equivalent spheres. The .tar archives contain the output (.nc files) as well as the input (.namelist files) of the FLEXPART (Lagrangian particle dispersion model) simulations.
