The study aims at investigating the diversity of viruses, especially bacteriophages, in Luxembourg soils (i.e. forest and grasslands). Then, the identified populations are linked to the physicochemical properties of soils and their bacterial hosts to determine whether their diversity is driven by the surrounding ecosystems and/or bacterial populations.
