FloridaCommerce Office of Broadband"s Project Areas for the BEAD Deployment Program. Project Areas are geographic units for which stakeholders will bid for broadband deployment subsidies under the BEAD program. The State of Florida"s BEAD Project Areas were designed using a variety of factors, such as 2020 Census Geographies, the presence of major roadways, and relative clustering of broadband serviceable locations (BSL) derived from a spatial analysis of BEAD Eligible locations within the State. Additionally, tribal lands were separated out into their own project areas. Spatial Reference: NAD83(2011) / Florida GDL Albers (EPSG:6439) Field Descriptions: projectarea_id: Unique Identifier for Project Areas, constructed from the County GEOID (FIPS Code) + a numeric identifier. These IDs are generated by a script and as such, may not match previous iterations of project areas published by the Office. count_bsl: The number of BEAD Eligible broadband serviceable locations, as determined by the Office, within a given Project Area. count_unserved: The number of Unserved broadband serviceable locations, as determined by the Office, within a given Project Area. count_underserved: The number of Underserved broadband serviceable locations, as determined by the Office, within a given Project Area. reserve: Boolean field that denotes whether or not a Project Area is a part of a Tribal Land. county_name: County that the Project Area is located within. state_name: State that the Project Area is located within. county_geoid: County GEOID for the County that the Project Area is located within. state_geoid: State GEOID for the State that the Project Area is located within.
