Komagataeibacter maltaceti LMG1529 is a novel vinegar producing acetic acid bacterium (AAB) isolated from malt vinegar brewery acetifiers. Since alcohol dehydrogenases (ADHs) are widely used as biocatalysts and ADH from AAB strains have a broad substrate spectrum, this strain can be a potential candidate for biocatalysis. Therefore we sequenced the genome of this strain to look for promising ADH gene for biocatalytic research.
