Light induction changes within the mouse brain

In an attempt to understand light therapy, wild-type mice or Period1-deficient mice were left untreated, or exposed to a 30 min light pulse two hours before the end of their light phase. After 10 hours, four different brain regions, the suprachiasmatic nuclei, the lateral habenula, the ventral segmental area, and the nucleus accumbens were extracted and their RNA content purified. Each brain region and condition received information from six animals.
