Developmental density shapes adult mate guarding strategies in an invertebrate

This repository contains the data and R script associated with an experimental study examining how developmental social environment shapes post-copulatory mate-guarding behaviour in the nuptial gift–giving cricket Gryllodes sigillatus. Males and females were reared under high or low same-sex densities in a full factorial design and crossed in standardized no-choice mating trials. The dataset includes measures of mate-guarding duration, female feeding time on the spermatophylax, ampulla retention time, post-copulatory touches, and body mass for both sexes. All analyses were conducted in R, with scripts designed to run from raw data to final results without manual intervention.
