Oil and gas development potential for six states in the western contiguous United States

Oil and Gas Development Potential (OGDP) for six states in the western contiguous United States Methodology, data sources, and model output will be documented in: Chandler M, Belote RT, Meek MH. (in prep). Modeling oil and gas development potential to identify conservation risks and opportunities in the western United States. There are 2 .csv files: ogdp_2026-01-16.csv — the latitude and longitude coordinates for the center point of each 10-km x 10-km grid cell and the corresponding OGDP value for that grid cell. well_grid_2026-01-16.csv — the latitude and longitude coordinates for the center point of each 10-km x 10-km grid cell with at least 1 historically producing oil and/or gas well. There are 2 .tif files: ogdp_2026-01-16.tif — the OGDP raster. well_grid_2026-01-16.tif — a raster of the grid cells that contain at least 1 historically producing oil and/or gas well.
