This study examined the potential role of the gut microbiome in canine atopic dermatitis (cAD) in West Highland White Terriers (WHWT), a breed predisposed to this inflammatory skin condition. Fecal samples from 21 WHWTs (12 with cAD, 9 healthy) were analyzed using shotgun metagenomic sequencing.
