Using Bean populations derived from P. acutifolius to discerning the genetic base associated to heat tolerance

Several studies have shown that Phaseolus acutifolius is an important source of heat stress tolerance that could improve common bean adaptability to high temperatures. Here we crossed two wild P. acutifolius accessions with five Mesoamerican elite breeding lines and developed an interspecific mapping population for discerning the genetic base of heat tolerance inherited from P. acutifolius.
