VPRS 12850 Drawing Register

The volume in this series appears to have been used initially as an index to the location of drawings of rolling stock and associated parts kept by the Rolling Stock Branch of the Victorian Railways. The volume had a continuous running number. Other columns allowed for entries about the number of drawer, who the drawing was made by, description (of the drawing) and remarks. Details of existing drawings appear to have been transcribed into the volume from an earlier record and then added to.By c1900, the volume became a register of the completion of the drawings themselves with the column previously being headed Number of Drawer being changed to Date of Drawing. More comprehensive information was given in the remarks column with notations regarding the size and type of drawing, the materials upon which drawings were executed and the scale of the drawing.
