资源简介:
Salmonella enterica subsp enterica serovar gallinarum, causing severe systemic diseases known as fowl typhoid (FT) is a significant poultry pathogen in Bangladesh, particularly in small-scale commercial layer flocks with low biosecurity, leading to economic losses and potential public health risks. Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) of Salmonella gallinarum isolated from infected poultry in Bangladesh involves the comprehensive analysis of the bacterium's complete genetic material. This allows for the identification of genetic variations, pathogenicity factors, and antimicrobial resistance genes in the organism. Sequencing the entire genome helps in better understanding the molecular mechanisms of infection, tracking the epidemiology of the bacterium, and developing more effective strategies for controlling fowl typhoid in poultry farming in Bangladesh.
