All 5479 genes from the galGal3 RefSeq database were placed in order of their level of expression (mean RPKM from two biological samples) and were then divided into five 20th-percentile classes in relation to expression level. First 20 %-ile (red filled), second 20 %-ile (green filled), third 20 %-ile (blue filled), fourth 20 %-ile (dark blue filled) and fifth 20 %-ile (violet filled).
