Histological and structural remodeling of mitral valve chordae tendineae and the traction resistance in aspect of the progression of degenerative changes in myxomatous mitral valve disease (MMVD) in dogs

<p><span style="font-size:12.04px">The data contained in the files were utilized within the framework of the NCN Preludium Bis 2 project entitled: “Histological and structural remodeling of mitral valve chordae tendineae and the traction resistance in aspect of the progression of degenerative changes in myxomatous mitral valve disease (MMVD) in dogs”, conducted between 2021 and 2025, project number: 2020/39/O/NZ5/01238. Based on these data, two original research articles have been published: DOI: https://doi.org/10.1007/s11259-025-10761-5 DOI: https://doi.org/10.1186/s12917-025-04586-2 The dataset includes information on the dogs used for the examination of cardiac chordae tendineae, such as age, body weight, and breed, as well as anatomopathological features assessed using the Whitney grading scale. Furthermore, the data comprise results from histopathological analyses, with an established HP (0–3) scale, and immunohistochemical evaluations. The presented dataset also includes results from biomechanical testing assessing the tensile properties of the chordae tendineae.</span></p>
