Data and Code for: Measuring China's rule-of-law effectivity for ocean Sustainable Development Goal implementation

Overview This repository contains the data and code necessary to reproduce the quantitative findings in the manuscript: "Measuring China's rule-of-law effectivity for ocean Sustainable Development Goal implementation". The study provides a systematic, empirical assessment of the legal effectivity of UN SDG 14 implementation in China using a mixed-methods legal indicators approach. Dataset Contents The repository includes the following files to ensure full transparency and reproducibility of the quantitative findings and visualizations presented in the manuscript: 1. SDG14_China_Anonymized_Data.xlsx This comprehensive Microsoft Excel workbook contains all raw and processed data. It includes: Sheet 1: Data Dictionary (variables and scoring rules). Sheet 2: Raw anonymized survey responses from the expert panel. Sheets 3 & 4: Statistical aggregations and consensus analyses for the core dimensions (Families 1-5), supporting Figs. 3a, 3b, and 3c. Sheet 5: Survey responses regarding Contextual Factors (Family 6), supporting Fig. 4. 2. Fig4_RidgePlot.R The R script used to generate the ridge plot visualization for contextual factors (Fig. 4). Requirements: R environment, ggplot2, ggridges, dplyr, tidyr, forcats, and readxl. Usage Notes To run this script, ensure the SDG14_China_Anonymized_Data.xlsx file is in your working directory and the readxl package is installed.
