Bluefish life histories

I am interested in intra-specific variability in life histories and while at NCEAS will use bluefish, Pomatomus saltatrix, a globally-distributed and harvested species, to quantify the degree of local adaptation across populations. I will first review ecological and fisheries data from global bluefish populations and use genetic data to produce a DNA-based species phylogeny. I will then use a comparative analysis to separate life history traits across populations to account for phylogenetic effects and thus isolate environmental and fishing effects
