Composition of microbial communities from Kanda Bay of the White Sea Raw sequence reads

Kanda Bay refers to the reservoir formed as a result of the construction of the railway dam (1915) and the ensuing isolation of the sea lagoon from the main basin of the Kandalaksha Bay of the White Sea. Hydrological regime of the water body has changed as a result of reduction of the influence of tidal currents stirring up the water column of the sea lagoon. Reduced water exchange has led to the appearance of bottom stagnant waters deprived of oxygen, as well as hydrogen sulfide contamination. We studied the microbial communities of bottom sediments in different parts of the Kanda Bay.
