Acinetobacter strains play an important role in the bioremediation of xenobiotic compounds. Many representatives of this genus are involved in opportunistic human infection, but there are also environmental strains involved in the degradation aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, as well as crude oil. Therefore, the goal of this survey is to understand, through whole genome sequencing analyses, the mechanisms used by this bacterium to metabolize crude oil components, its interaction with hydrocarbon compounds, genes and metabolic pathways of bioremediation process.
