Soil metagenome

The soil samples in this study were collected from landfill cover soil at a depth of 40-50 cm, located in the Asuwei landfill in Beijing on the North China Plain, a typical temperate soil region. The samples were used in experiments coupling anaerobic methane oxidation (AOM) with denitrification. The soils were divided into multiple treatment groups with different electron acceptors (nitrate or nitrite) and an electron shuttle (AQDS) added to investigate the impact of AOM-denitrification coupling on soil N2O emissions. Metagenomic sequencing was conducted to analyze the microbial community composition and interactions related to methane oxidation and denitrification processes.
