THE ROLE OF GAMES IN VOCABULARY INSTRUCTION: THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL ANALYSIS

This article examines the role of games in developing lexical skills in foreign language classes, particularly English, from both scientific-theoretical and practical perspectives. The effectiveness of game-based teaching methods is illuminated through the results of empirical research conducted in Uzbekistan's general secondary schools, analysis of international academic literature, and modern teaching technologies. According to the research findings, game-based learning has been proven to be 35–46% more effective than traditional methods in vocabulary acquisition and long-term retention. The article elaborates on the significant role of games at the stages of introducing, consolidating, and actively applying lexical units.
