Global dataset of nitrogen pool and flux estimates

Dataset of global nitrogen pools and flux estimates from 1955 to 2025 (through May). Data are seperated by domain (terrestrial, aquatic, atmospheric) with an additional tab for data that were not included in the data synthesis (total inputs that were redundant of existing data or data outside the scope of the project). Tabs have also been added that list the full citations used and that summarize means, medians, and ranges (minimum and maximum) for key fluxes. The primary dataset was used to derive a global nitrogen budget, which shows data included in the nitrogen balance calculation and how "best estimates" were derived. Also included is the data used to make figure 3 (from Zhang et al. 2021 Nature Food) and data used to make figure 5a.
