Replication Package for "Institutional Constraints and Environmental Cost Internalization: Evidence from South Papua, Indonesia"

This replication package contains the qualitative research materials supporting the manuscript entitled “Institutional Constraints and Environmental Cost Internalization: Evidence from South Papua, Indonesia.” The study examines how institutional constraints impede environmental cost internalization by large-scale enterprises in South Papua, Indonesia, using qualitative interviews with environmental regulatory agencies and enterprises operating in palm oil processing, port logistics, and power generation sectors. The repository includes: • README.pdf – overview of the replication package and file descriptions.• Interview_Guide.pdf – semi-structured interview instrument used in data collection.• Interview_Transcripts_Anonymised.pdf – anonymised transcripts from eleven in-depth interviews with environmental agency officials and enterprise representatives.• NVivo_Codebook.pdf – coding framework, thematic nodes, operational definitions, and NVivo coding outputs used in qualitative content analysis. The materials are provided to support research transparency, qualitative reproducibility, and methodological verification in accordance with the data availability requirements of the Southeast Asian Journal of Economics. All interview transcripts have been anonymised prior to deposit. Sensitive institutional data and confidential information not approved for public disclosure are excluded from this repository.
