High-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) remains the most lethal gynecologic malignancy despite new therapeutic concepts, including poly-ADP-ribose polymerase inhibitors (PARPis) and antiangiogenic therapy. In this study, we have analyzed homologous recombination repair deficiency (HRD) or BRCAness and the composition of the tumor microenvironment, which appear to play a critical role in determining the therapeutic response of combination immunotherapy with PARPis. The used datasets include RNA sequencing data and clinical information from patients of a new HGSOC cohort of the Medical University of Innsbruck (MUI) (n=60) and analyzed data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) (n=226).
