The GutTransit project aims to integrate industrial and academic expertise to demonstrate the effectiveness of new prebiotic and probiotic products in maintaining a balanced intestinal system and improving human intestinal peristalsis. The two probiotic species Heyndrickxia coagulans [Basonym: Bacillus coagulans (Hammer 1915)] and Lacticaseibacillus casei [Basonym: Lactobacillus casei (Orla Jensen 1916, Hansen and Lessel 1971)] were provided by the industrial partners of GutTransit Project (Lacto Research sprl.) and tested in the human intestinal microbial ecosystem by the academic partners (University of Liege).
