"Blick auf die Haupt-Bananenschambe des Häuptlings Koimbere" ("View of chief Koimbere's main banana plantation."). Hardly visible in the lower middle part of the picture: an African man in a white cloth outfit stands in between the plants.; Cf. photo no. 274. -- The picture was probably taken by Johannes Schanz (1876-1963). He worked as a missionary of the Leipzig Mission in Moshi and Mamba from 1901 to 1910.
