China's rainstorms in 1998-2017 derived from TMPA 3B42 product

This dataset contains the Access database as well as Geotiff datasets for China's rainstorms during 1998 to 2017. It was generated from TRMM Multi-satellite Precipitation Analysis (TMPA) product 3B42-v7, with 3 hours temporal resolution and 0.25 arc-degree spatial resolution, using python scripts. The scripts, whose function is to identify rainstorm events from time series grid precipitation datasets, have also been included in the database. They can not only be used for identifying rainstorms from TMPA product, but also can be used for identifying rainstorms from any other time series grid precipitation dataset, such as the reanalysis precipitation data or precipitation data interpolated from gauge observations.
Please bearing in mind that there are also uncertainties, not only from the method we are using, but also from the original TMPA dataset we are using. Detailed information is referred to Huang et al. 2021.
