Dy3Hg is Uranium Silicide structured and crystallizes in the cubic Pm-3m space group. The structure is three-dimensional. Dy is bonded to eight equivalent Dy and four equivalent Hg atoms to form distorted DyDy8Hg4 cuboctahedra that share corners with twelve equivalent DyDy8Hg4 cuboctahedra, edges with eight equivalent HgDy12 cuboctahedra, edges with sixteen equivalent DyDy8Hg4 cuboctahedra, faces with four equivalent HgDy12 cuboctahedra, and faces with fourteen equivalent DyDy8Hg4 cuboctahedra. All Dy–Dy bond lengths are 3.40 Å. All Dy–Hg bond lengths are 3.40 Å.
