资源简介:

This dataset contains the raw and processed data supporting the article:“Tuning Properties of Sustainable Castor Oil Based Polyurethanes With Bacterial Biomass as Fillers” (DOI: doi.org/10.1007/s10924-025-03540-5).The dataset includes: zipped file (including 3 figures and 24 spreadsheets) readme.txt as a metadata file The data and files contained in this dataset are related to a new series of bio-based polyurethanes (bio-PUs) was developed using castor oil and hexamethylenediisocyanate (HMDI) as a crosslinking agent via solvent casting, without the use of any catalyst. These bio-PUs were further enhanced with bacterial biomass serving as bio-fillers. For the first time, three distinct types of biomass were utilized: mcl-PHA-containing biomass from the polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) production process (F1), residual bacterial biomass post-biopolymer extraction (F2), and biomass from the biopigment prodigiosin production process (F3). The synthesized bio-PUs were thoroughly characterized using ATR-FTIR spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction, and thermogravimetric/differential thermogravimetric (TG/DTG) analysis. Additional evaluations included mechanical performance, optical transparency, swelling behavior, and water contact angle to assess their application potential. All bio-PUs demonstrated biocompatibility with human fibroblast cell line MRC5 and indicated the shape memory properties. This approach of adding various bacterial biomass into PU matrices is a step forward toward sustainable resource utilization and supports the principles of circular bio-economy in new material development. The dataset is linked to the publication for transparency and compliance with FAIR principles.
