This dataset contains 2,366 newly assembled beetle mitochondrial genomes from Panama and Borneo, generated using pooled-DNA genome skimming and multiple assembly pipelines. These sequences were combined with > 3,000 re-annotated GenBank mitogenomes, producing a phylogenetic dataset comprising 5,518 beetles and 9 outgroups, representing nearly all major coleopteran lineages and 145 families.
