The Influence of Embodied Cognition on the Perception and Representation of Numbers: A Meta-analysis

In order to specify the total effect size of the effect of embodied cognition on number processing, 73 effect sizes from 49 papers were meta-analysed by using a random effects model, which provides a basis for understanding the relationship between embodiment and number cognition.    Data coding included: basic information about the study (name of the study, name of the experiment and name of the task), information about the subjects (language, total number of subjects, gender and age), mode of response (verbal or keystroke, etc.), type of stimulus (number or gesture, etc.), significance results, significance of the effect, and supplemental material (whether or not the instruction contained embodied-related features as probing stimuli, the effect taken, etc.).
