In this project proteo-transcriptomics and genome data are used to unravel venom protein gene evolution in solitary and social aculeates (Bees, wasps, ants) and other hymenopterans. This work is linked to a project of BMvReumont on hymenopteran venom evolution, which is funded by the German Science Foundation (DFG RE3454/6-1). The project is also associated with the LOEWE Centre for Translational Biodiversity Genomics (LOEWE TBG) at Senckenberg Frankfurt. Part of the work was conducted by BMvR as coordinator of the group Animal Venomics as part of LOEWE TBG being based at the Institute for Insectbiotechnology (Justus Liebig University of Giessen and Fraunhofer IME Giessen).
