Impact of early hyperoxia on 28-day in-hospital mortality in patients with myocardial injury

We included consecutive patients with myocardial injury (cardiac troponin-I ≥ 0.2 ng/mL in the first 24 hours of presentation) who were arrived at our emergency department and admitted to the hospital over 7 years, and evaluated the association between hyperoxia in the first 24 hours and outcomes (28 day mortality and occurrence of organ dysfunction estimated by the SOFA score). The results showed hyperoxia was strongly correlated with unfavorable outcomes.
