Fusarium is one of the notorious fungal pathogen causing severe wilt syndrome in many crop plants and causing mycotoxicoses in humans. Formae speciale tropical race 4 (Foc TR4) of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense damages almost all cultivars of banana plants, devastates banana production and accounts for severe economic losses throughout the world. PMI interconverts fructose-6-phosphate (Fru6P) and mannose-6-phosphate (Man6P) and links the cell wall biosynthesis to energy production. Our aim was to reveal the metabolic pathways by PMI deletion by transcriptome analysis.
