The original dataset supporting the paper "Spatiotemporal Evolutionary Characteristics of Rural Digitalization and Ecosystem Services: A County-Level Analysis of the Yangtze River Economic Belt"

The data used in the ecological and environmental part of this study were primarily sourced from: the Climate change initiative (CCI)、 the National Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Scientific Data Center、 the Geospatial data cloud、 the 1 km Soil depth map of China、 the ISRIC data center、the Nanjing Institute of Soil Science, the Chinese Academy of Sciences、 the Nanjing Institute of Soil Science, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the National Center for Basic Geographic Information. Data on rural digitalization were primarily sourced from the China County Statistical Yearbook, the China City Statistical Yearbook, the National Bureau of Statistics of China, from the official county and municipal government websites, Tianyancha, Ctrip, the Alibaba Research Institute, and relevant research reports. This is a three-phase balanced panel dataset covering the years 2014, 2018, and 2022. This dataset provides information on rural digitization, ecosystem services, relevant control variables, and geographic location for counties within the Yangtze River Economic Belt, making it particularly suitable for research on the use of digital technologies to empower rural areas and enhance ecosystem services. After removing extreme outliers and imputing missing values using consistent panel data methods, a total of 2,109 valid county-level observations are obtained, providing a solid empirical foundation for exploring the spatiotemporal evolution of rural digitalization and ecosystem services.
