The left anterior descending coronary artery permanent ligation model of myocardial infarction was used to study the time of day differences in genetic responses post-MI between sleep-time MI, wake-time MI, wake-sham and sleep-sham mouse hearts. The micorarray approach allows the investigation of gene expression changes of all genes in sleep-time MI vs. wake-time MI vs. sham hearts. There are a total of 12 samples, 6 from cardiovascular disease MI and 6 from normal SHAM hearts collected 8 hours after surgery. Specifically for MI: There were 3 mice sacrificed 8 hours after wake-time MI as biological replicates, and there were 3 mice sacrificed 8 hours after sleep-time MI as biological replicates. Specifically for SHAM: There were 3 mice sacrificed 8 hours after wake-time SH as biological replicates, and there were 3 mice sacrificed 8 hours after sleep-time SH as biological replicates.
