Comprehensive multi-omics analysis was carried out to screen candidate genes for important economic traits in Nixi chicken

Based on the protection of high-quality local chicken breeds and the excavation of characteristic and high-quality genes, this study aimed at Nixi chicken, an endangered endemic local poultry breed, and planned to conduct a molecular genetic study on a representative population of Nixi chicken in Patitang Breeding Professional Cooperative, Jiantang Town, Nixi Township, Shangri-La City, Yunnan Province through multi-omics technology (whole genome resequencing, transcriptome sequencing and microbial 16S rRNA sequencing). Through whole genome resequencing, transcriptome sequencing and microbial 16S rRNA sequencing, the genes related to important economic traits (growth traits, reproductive traits, disease resistance traits, etc.) of Nixi chicken were deeply explored. The results of this study can provide theoretical guidance and scientific basis for the protection, systematic breeding, rejuvenation and multiplication of excellent traits of Nixi chicken, and have broad production and application prospects and value.
