Boosting Community Engagement through Leveraging the Ward Health System Approach for Enhanced HPV Vaccination Acceptance: A Living Systematic Review Protocol.

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a common sexually transmitted infection linked to several cancers, including cervical, oropharyngeal, anal, and genital cancers. Cervical cancer, caused by HPV, is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women, particularly in low- and middle-income countries like Nigeria. Despite the availability of highly effective HPV vaccines, vaccine uptake in Nigeria remains low due to factors such as vaccine hesitancy, limited knowledge, and cultural misconceptions. The healthcare domain being studied focuses on leveraging community engagement strategies, specifically the Ward Health System (WHS) approach, to improve HPV vaccination acceptance in Nigeria. This systematic review aims to evaluate the impact of WHS-led interventions on increasing vaccination rates and overcoming barriers to vaccine uptake.
