Model output supporting: "Insights into the hydrology of the Cuvette Centrale peatlands through SMOS L-band data assimilation into an enhanced land surface model"
收藏资源简介:
This archive contains gridded land-surface model output for the Cuvette Centrale peatland region in the Congo Basin. The files were generated forexperiments evaluating the hydrological impact of assimilating SMOS L-band observations into an enhanced land surface model representation of tropicalpeatlands. The dataset includes open-loop (OL) and data-assimilation (DA) simulations for two model domains/configurations: - CO_CON_ens36_OL.nc- CO_CON_ens36_DA.nc- CO_TN_ens36_OL.nc- CO_TN_ens36_DA.nc In addition, the archive includes one file with data-assimilation increments: - catch_progn_incr_images_CO_CON_ens36_DA.nc The file names use the following convention: - CO_CON: Congo Basin / Cuvette Centrale configuration labelled "CON"- CO_TN: configuration labelled "TN"- OL: open-loop simulation, without SMOS data assimilation- DA: data-assimilation simulation, with SMOS L-band data assimilation File format-----------All files are provided in NetCDF format and contain gridded variables with time, latitude, and longitude dimensions. The time coordinate follows the model output convention used in the files (hours since 2000-01-01 00:00). The four main model-output files contain the dimensions: - time- lat- lon The data-assimilation increment file catch_progn_incr_images_CO_CON_ens36_DA.nc contains the same horizontal grid as the CO_CON files. Variables in the main model-output files---------------------------------------- - depth_to_water_table_from_surface_in_peat- catchment_deficit- rootzone_excess- surface_excess- sm_surface- sm_rootzone- precipitation_total_surface_flux- overland_runoff_flux- baseflow_flux- land_fraction_saturated- land_evapotranspiration_flux- EVPSOIL- EVPTRNS- heat_flux_latent- heat_flux_sensible- surface_temp Variable names, units, and long_name attributes are stored in the NetCDF metadata. Variables in the data-assimilation increment file-------------------------------------------------The file catch_progn_incr_images_CO_CON_ens36_DA.nc contains prognostic state increments from the CO_CON data-assimilation experiment. These variables document the model-state updates applied during the assimilation of SMOS L-band observations and were used for the increment analysis of the paper. The hydrologically relevant increments are: - CATDEF_INCR: increment_catchment_deficit, units kg m-2- RZEXC_INCR: increment_root_zone_excess, units kg m-2- SRFEXC_INCR: increment_surface_excess, units kg m-2- CAPAC_INCR: increment_interception_reservoir_capac, units kg m-2 For the units of each variable, users should inspect the NetCDF metadata.
