Genomic Sequence Resources from Gossypium hirsutum and Gossypium barbadense

we combined genome resequencing data from an interspecific backcross inbred line (BIL) population of 191 lines that was derived from a cross between upland cotton (CRI36) and G. barbadense cotton (Hai7124), with fibre transcriptome data at 5, 10 and 15 dpa from 47 BILs with contrasting FL. We aimed to (1) elaborate on the "extremely expressed genes" generated near recombination hotspots and their impact on FL; (2) explore the relationship between genetic recombination and the expression of novel alleles and identify novel alleles that potentially influence FL; and (3) provide insights into the regulatory "temporal-spatial" landscape of dynamic fibre elongation and search for candidate genes related to FL.
