## About the SQL-Server Plugin

This plugin, used with the [Omnata Sync Engine](https://app.snowflake.com/marketplace/listing/GZSUZ13JOEUG/omnata-omnata-sync-engine), enables you to connect to and ingest data from SQL Server databases deployed in the cloud and on-premise.

**SQL-Server plugin features:**

• Connect using Privatelink, Direct or ngrok tunnel

• Use CDC, CT, or incremental high-watermark & full-refresh syncs

• Configure and schedule multiple sync jobs to optimize performance

• Live-query functions for Snowflake worksheets and notebooks (UDFs)

## Connection methods

**Privatelink**<br/>• Snowflake Business Critical Edition accounts in AWS or Azure can now use Privatelink. This replaces the need for Omnata's in-built tunnels.

**Omnata-ngrok tunnel (optional)**

• We enable you to connect to cloud and on-premise databases via secure tunnelling agent so you don't need to open network firewalls

• No data is copied or stored outside of Snowflake

• Extra billing events will apply at $3/day

• Unlimited connections and 1TB/m of data transfer (contact us if you have more than this)

**Direct**

• If your database can be made publicly accessible, you can connect directly to it using credentials.

2. Install the Omnata Plugin for each endpoint you want to connect to
