资源简介:
This dataset contains the results of a systematic literature review (SLR) analyzing 72 empirical studies on participatory science (also known as citizen science or community-based monitoring) involving K–12 students. The review focused on ecological monitoring projects related to biodiversity and environmental factors conducted between 2006 and 2025.
Each record represents one study and includes information such as publication year, country, education level, project type, participation model (contributory, collaborative, or co-created), scientific and educational goals, tools used, community involvement, and major findings. The dataset was created as part of the research “Participatory Science for K–12 Students: A Systematic Review of Ecological Monitoring Program Design and Implementation.”
The data extraction followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Analytical coding was guided by Cultural–Historical Activity Theory (CHAT), focusing on six core components: subjects, objects, tools, rules, community, and division of labor.
This dataset can be used to examine patterns in participatory science program design, identify educational and scientific outcomes, and explore trends across regions and school levels. It is particularly useful for researchers in science education, environmental education, and citizen science program design.
