Blocks

Historically the oldest subdivisions in the downtown area had legal descriptions that designated parcels by their block number and lot number. Thereafter housing subdivisions were called tracts and initially were named (example; Lowell Addition). Many of these “Named” tracts were also subdivided into blocks and lots. The parcel layer presently does not capture this information. But many downtown parcels still have blocks as part of their legal descriptions. This layer is useful for finding these lots.
