Locations and outlines of collapse sinkholes formed from 1992 to 2024 in evaporite karst at the eastern Dead Sea shore (Jordan) as defined in high resolution optical remote-sensing data
收藏资源简介:
This archive contains preliminary remote sensing–based vector datasets produced as part of the study “Scaling and exceedance probability of sinkhole collapse in evaporite karst (Dead Sea, Jordan)”, which has been submitted for possible publication in Natural Hazards and Earth System Sciences. Included datasets: Sinkhole_points - Point shapefile marking the locations of individual sinkholes (1992–2024). Coalescent_sinkhole_area - Polygon shapefile in which each polygon represents a merged (coalescent) sinkhole cluster. All coalescent sinkholes visible for a given timestamp have been annotated (1992–2024). Singular_sinkhole_area - Polygon shapefile in which each polygon delineates the area of a single sinkhole that first appeared in a given year (1992–2024). Python_notebooks - 3 Python scripts that contain the code for the plots and graphs in the manuscript. We worked with Jupyter Notebook and Google Colab. Vector data is given as shapefiles with CRS code EPSG:32636.
