Rhizobacterial culture collection from Arabidopsis thaliana Col-0 grown in natural Reijerscamp soil

Rhizobacterial culture collection consisting of 447 isolates isolated from Arabidopsis thaliana Col-0 grown in natural Reijerscamp soil that spans the four phyla Actinobacteria, Proteobacteria, Bacteroidetes, and Firmicutes.The rhizospheres of the Arabidopsis plants were harvested at three and seven days post-transplantation from plates to the soil. Roots were removed and shaken vigorously to keep tightly root-associated bacterial strains. The roots were subsequently washed, diluted a million times, and plated on tryptic soy agar, reasoner's 2A agar, yeast extract medium, minimal medium with 2 mM coumarin, potato dextrose agar and King's B medium. Single colonies were picked after three, five, seven, ten, fourteen, and twenty one days after plating and individually cultivated in liquid tryptic soy broth.The 447 culture collection is the non-redundant set of these extraction methods. These isolates were subjected to WGS using the Illumina WGS protocol. Nextera adapters were trimmed with cutadapt.
