资源简介:
The golden lion tamarin (Leontopithecus rosalia), less commonly known as the golden lion marmoset, is a small New World monkey of the family Callitrichidae. Endemic to the Atlantic coastal forests of Brazil, the golden lion tamarin is an endangered species. Its geographic range is entirely within the state of Rio de Janeiro (from Wikipedia entry). This sample was collected from a male neonate at the Bronx Zoo in New York City. The sample was coordinated by the Wildlife Conservation Society and supported by Google to generate a high-quality reference genome for the Vertebrate Genomes Project (VGP). Sequencing and genome assembly were conducted at the Vertebrate Genome Lab (VGL) at the Rockefeller University, led by Erich D. Jarvis, Giulio Formenti, and Jennifer Balacco.
